Mike and I went to visit his family that lived in Volcan, Panama and I fell in love with the mountainous town. Volcan is a small and beautiful town located in the mountains of the Chiriqui province, just beside the Baru volcano. The altitude is 4,000 feet above the sea level. This area of Panama is famous for its year round perfect weather and stays between 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and the natural beauty of the mountains are said to resemble the Alps. On clear days, from the highest craters of the extinct, 12,000-feet high Volcan Baru, it is even possible to observe the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
