Mike and I decided to take a road trip from Panama City to Bocas Del Toro and experience the beauty of these islands. Bocas Del Toro is an island chain off the Caribbean coast. Isla Colon is the main island and is home to the capital, Bocas Town.
When we entered the water way near Bocas Del Toro, immediately we saw our where we were staying on Carenero Island. There are beautiful, yellow bungalows built over the water and they are so adorable. Faro del Colibri has a wood décor and there is a balcony right off the back of the bungalow.
We used water taxis to get around the islands, to Bocas Town, to get supplies and going out.
Bocas Town is the hub with restaurants, shops and nightlife that you have to use boat taxis to get to unless staying in Bocas Town. There are plenty of cheap places to eat, drink and enjoy life. Nightlife spots are open late into the night and have great music.
Boat tours and more. We had several boat tours to take us to see the sloths hanging from the trees, dauphins playing, starfish beach and our own private island, it seemed. Mike and I walked around the entire island. At one point the jungle was so thick we had to swim around the island to get back to the boat. We were so amazed at how gorgeous Boca Del Toro is.
