I ventured to Folly Beach during our visit to Charleston. Folly Beach has a rich history and it was cool to find out that during the Civil War, Folly Beach was occupied by Federal troops. The soldiers constructed roads, forts, an artillery battery, and a supply depot. Folly Beach had the capacity to hold up to 13,000 troops and their equipment. The Federal army used Folly Beach as its main strategic base for the battle to take Fort Sumter. It's a beauty little island off the coat of South Carolina.
