A road trip into the Green Mountain State revealed just how gorgeous Vermont really is. Vermont in the Spring and the hillsides were coming alive with emerald green trees that seemed to roll on forever. Stunning lakes, mountains and rivers truly make Vermont spectacular. Below are a few of our favorites in Vermont.
Green Mountain National Forest
I fell in love with Vermont when I experienced the natural beauty of Green Mountain National Forest.
Covered Bridges
What could be more romantic than a New England covered bridge? There are over 100 authentic covered bridges in Vermont and some bridges date from 1820. I was so excited to be able to drive through some of these bridges. So cool!
Lake Champlain
We enjoyed gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and discovered that it's the 6th largest lake and almost became a great lake by President Clinton. There are over 300 historic shipwrecks at the bottom of Lake Champlain. Wow!
No one has found "Champ" the fabled sea monster but they have found some sunken ships.
The scenery!
Vermont scenic routes offer sweeping forest and farmland vistas, quaint villages, and quiet country roads.
