Toronto is the capital of the province of Ontario. It is a major city along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore. It's a large city with soaring skyscrapers including the iconic CN Tower. Toronto also has many parks and historical landmarks like Old Toronto and Casa Loma. Below are some great places to visit in Toronto.
1. Casa Loma
Casa Loma is a Gothic Revival style castle and gardens in midtown Toronto that is now a museum and landmark. Casa Loma has 98 rooms, decorated suites, secret passages, stately towers, tunnels, wine seller, antique car collection, estate gardens and luxurious stables built by Sir Henry Pellat between 1911 - 1914. There have been several movies filmed at Casa Loma and it's a great location for weddings and special events.
2. CN Tower
The CN Tower is a 553 mile high communications and observation tower in downtown Toronto. CN Tower offers EdgeWalk, a thrilling attraction and the first of its kind in North America. It is the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk on a 5 ft wide ledge. Visitors walk while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system. EdgeWalk guides will encourage participants to push their personal limits, allowing them to lean back over Toronto with nothing but air and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario beneath them.
3. Toronto Parks and Beaches
Many of Toronto’s waterfront parks have sand or cobble beaches. The lakeside atmosphere is great for a picnic or some beach volleyball. We also saw many people working out on the calisthenic equipment or simply enjoying the day by biking and jogging on the boardwalk. We chose to visit Woodbine Beach, the largest of the four beaches alongside Lake Ontario in Toronto. Woodbine beach is a Blue Flag beach. The Blue Flag is awarded to beaches and marinas that meet strict standards for water quality, environmental management and education, safety and services. Woodbine Beach offers a beautiful Boardwalk, Beaches that run along the coast of Lake Ontario and the beach is near Old Toronto and close to the city.
