Plum Island Light or Newburyport Harbor Lighthouse
This lovely lighthouse is located at the end of Essex Coastal Scenic Byway. The Newburyport Harbor Lighthouse was built in 1788 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Set some distance back from the beach, it is constructed on sandy yet firm ground and is thereby protected from the continuously changing shoreline. The keeper's dwelling still stands but only the light tower is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
