Rocky Mountain National Park spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. The Trail Ridge Road has aspen trees, magnificent mountains, big wildlife and beautiful rivers.
Rocky Mountain National Park began when Paleo-Indians traveled along what is now Trail Ridge Road to hunt and forage for food. The Rocky Mountain National Park Act was signed by President Woodrow Wilson on January 26, 1915, establishing the park boundaries and protecting the area for future generations.

The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel, best known for being the inspiration for Stephen King’s bestselling novel and movie "The Shining" starring Jack Nicholson as the slowly driven mad caretaker. It was built in 1909 as a grand summer resort that catered to wealthy travelers. The hotel is known for it's haunted rooms and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Stanley Hotel is located in Estes Park Colorado, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.
