I went to Maine and decided to see as many covered bridges as I could. This was a lovely adventure because I got to see the fabulous fall colors of New England while on our journey.
Covered Bridges
Lowe's Covered Bridge was built in 1857 and was washed away by the flood of April 1, 1987. A modern covered bridge, patterned after the original, was built on the original abutments in 1990.
Hemlock Covered Bridge was built in 1857.
Bethel Covered Bridge is a walking bridge and was built in 2001.
Robyville Covered Bridge is the only completely shingled covered bridge in the state and was built in 1876.
The Porter-Parsonsfield Bridge was built by the towns of Porter and Parsonsfield as a joint project over the Ossipee River in 1859.
Seeing the fall colors in Maine was like being in a painting. It was surreal how striking and vibrant the colors were. We are so lucky to have been able to see this.
