Exploring The Huge Catci In Saguaro National Park

I could not believe how large a cactus can grow are in Saguaro National Park in southeastern Arizona. The park consists of two separate areas, one in the Tucson Mountain District and the second in the Rincon Mountain District. Bost are about 10 miles east and west of Tucson. The park preserves the Sonoran Desert landscapes, fauna, and flora, including the giant saguaro cactus.

The cacti and volcanic rocks of the Tucson Mountains look completely different than the cacti and surface rocks on the Rincon Mountain. Both parks are self driving tours and the Saguaro are stunning and the desert was still in bloom while I was there. I even got to see a road-runner. The Tucson Mountain scenery was increible and covered with millions of cacti, as far as I could see and all the way up the Mountains. The Rincon Mountain scenery was so beautiful, I couldn't stop taking pictures. I learned that the Saguaro cactus grows to over one hundred fifty years old and some of the really large ones with multiple arms could be over two hundred years old.
